In the Zillertal, which is the largest “ski valley” in the world, there are numerous different ski resort to suite every taste. In total, there are 4 extensive ski regions in the Zillertal. A total of 508 kilometres of freshly groomed slopes for beginners, experts, families and connoisseurs are waiting to be explored. These 4 ski regions in the Ziller valley include the Hochzillertal Hochfügen / Spieljoch ski area, which is one of the top ski resorts in the valley. The second extensive ski region is the Zillertal Arena, which offers limitless skiing from Zell am Ziller via Gerlos to Krimml. 52 lifts and cable cars offer cover 143 kilometres of pistes stretching from Tyrol to Salzburg.
The Mayrhofner Bergbahnen ski resort is the third largest ski area in the Ziller valley. There are 25 modern lifts and cable cars, whisking adrenaline junkies and hobby skiers to the mountain top, where they can enjoy perfectly groomed pistes. Here you will also find Austria's steepest slope, called “Harakiri”, with a descent of 78%. The fourth largest ski region, the Ski & Glacier World Zillertal 3000, is located at the far end of the valley. The Hintertux glacier promises snow all year round. It is Austria’s only ski resort open 365 days a year.
No matter which ski resort you choose, there are lots of cosy ski huts and sunny mountain restaurants with wonderful terraces, waiting to be discovered.
